Premier’s wife joins cat lovers at DBKU’s Cat Show today

KUCHING, Aug 20: Sarawak Premier’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, has officiated the Kuching North Cat Show held at Mydin Petra Jaya (Vista Tunku) here today.

In conjunction with Kuching Festival 2022, the show was organised by Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) in collaboration with Royale Borneo Cattery, Kelab Kucing Jalanan Sarawak, Kelab Pencinta Kucing Sarawak, Geng Pusak Jalanan Sarawak, Sarawak Cat Club and Mydin Petra Jaya (Vista Tunku).

Also present at the event were Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who is also minister-in-charge of DBKU and Islamic Affairs, and DBKU Mayor Datu Junaidi Reduan.

DBKU, in a statement today, said the event’s objective was to encourage the city’s citizens to love and adopt cats and educate the public on how to care for cats.

Various interesting side activities were also held, such as Cat Uniform Competition, Cat Cage Decorating Competition, Cat Weight Guessing Competition and so on.

“It is hoped that through the organisation of the Kuching North Cat Show, it can become a platform for closer relations between DBKU and the rest of the city folk.

“In addition, it can produce citizens who are more responsible in looking after the welfare of cats in Sarawak,” the statement emphasised. — DayakDaily
