Premier welcomes RM5.9 bln allocation for Sarawak’s devt in Budget 2025

KUCHING, Oct 20: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg welcomes Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of allocation to Sarawak in Budget 2025.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Abang Johari said although it is less than what is allocated for Sabah, it can be utilised to develop important sectors in Sarawak.

“I would like to thank the federal government for increasing the special allocation from RM300 million to RM600 million.

“I hope that at least we have help from the federal government in developing important sectors in Sarawak,” he said, as quoted by Ukas.

He added apart from that, there was an increase in education allocations as well as an allocation of RM5.9 billion specifically for Sarawak and Sabah.

On Oct 18, Anwar announced a total of RM5.9 billion in allocation for Sarawak’s development in 2025, while Sabah will receive RM6.7 billion. — DayakDaily
