KUCHING, July 3: Sarawak Premier and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to attend the PBB Betong convention, which is expected to draw nearly 2,400 members on August 1.
In a TVS news report, the convention—themed ‘Protect Sarawak, Love Sarawak’ (‘Jaga Sarawak, Intu Sarawak’)—was among the matters discussed during the first Security, Health, and Cleanliness Committee meeting, chaired by Kabong assemblyman Dato Mohd Chee Kadir at the Betong Resident’s Office on Thursday (Jul 2).
The meeting also touched on coordinating preparations, including participant management, programme arrangements, logistics, security, reception for distinguished guests, and the allocation of responsibilities among the committees involved.
The meeting also reviewed follow-up actions to ensure all preparations are carried out according to schedule, guaranteeing the smooth organisation of the convention, which serves as a platform to strengthen party unity and its struggle for Sarawak’s development.
The second committee meeting is scheduled for July 10 to review the latest progress of preparations for the convention. — DayakDaily
