KUCHING, Dec 1: Sarawak’s capability to manage its wealth should not be questioned, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Abang Johari said that Sarawak’s intentions are purely to reclaim its rightful entitlements as enshrined in the law, and not to overreach.

“Sarawak’s increased revenue will be channelled back to the people for the State’s development, such as the RM1.5 billion allocated for Sarawak Agriculture Development Agency (SADA) projects.

“Is it wrong for the people of Sri Aman to enjoy the same progress as other developed areas? Is it wrong for Sarawak to grow like other developed states?” he asked.

His remarks were delivered by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during the opening ceremony of the Sri Aman Tidal Bore Festival 2024 yesterday (Nov 30).

He said that Sarawakians only desire fair development and the respect they deserve for their ability to manage their own resources.

‘We are only asking for what rightfully belongs to Sarawak, that’s all,” he added. — DayakDaily
