SIBUJAYA, Oct 7: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has lauded the transformation of Sibujaya, likening it to a modern and beautiful city.

Abang Johari said that due to the transformation, when he was coming over to Sibujaya today, he felt like he was entering another state due to the change of scenery.

“It is a significantly transformed Sibujaya. Its landscape has changed with all the colourful lights.

“This shows that Sibujaya is not in the rural areas anymore. It seems like a beautiful city,” he said when officiating at the Sibujaya Carnival Concert 2023 at the Azman Hashim Community Sports Centre in Sibujaya, streamed live via the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) Facebook page today.

He also congratulated the Sibujaya communities for living in harmony with each other.

He said the Iban, Malay, Melanau, Chinese and many other communities live like one happy family regardless of their background.

“You do not feel it. You live as if you are one family under one roof. That is Sibujaya, and that is Sarawak. ‘Segulai Bejalai’,” he added. — DayakDaily
