SARIKEU, Aug 8: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg took part in a 1.4-kilometre brisk walk from Taman Tasik Sarikei to Bazar MARA Sarikei together with dignitaries and members of the local community today.
According to his official Facebook page, the programme began at about 6.30am with an aerobics session at the grounds of Rumah Rehat Sri Nyelong before proceeding to Taman Tasik Sarikei.
Along the way, Abang Johari also took time to take photographs with members of the Sarikei community who had patiently waited by the roadside to welcome and meet him.
The relaxed interaction also allowed the Premier to mingle with community members who had turned up early in the morning to participate in the activity.
The brisk walk not only encouraged healthy lifestyle practices but also provided a platform for the State’s leadership and the Sarikei community to interact more closely in a relaxed, informal setting.
Upon arriving at Bazar MARA Sarikei, the Premier, dignitaries, and participants had breakfast, bringing the programme to an end. — DayakDaily
