KUCHING, June 2: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has been invited by the Australian government to give a talk on the prospect of hydrogen production in Sarawak in August this year.
Speaking during Harakah Islamiah’s (Hikmah) 21st Triennial Delegates Assembly (TDA) at Hikmah Exchange here today, Abang Johari said the world has recognised Sarawak for its green energy policy especially on the production of hydrogen.
“If they didn’t recognise us, they would not have invited me to give a talk in Poland and Japan. Last month, I was in Bangkok (to give a talk too).
“Insya-Allah, for this August, Australia has invited me too,” he said.
Abang Johari has been garnering attention of world leaders who have extended invitations to him to give talks on the green economy in countries such as Europe, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia.
The most recent occasions were when he delivered a talk on conservation of the planet at an international forum in Poland, followed by a talk on energy in Bangkok, Thailand, further underscoring Sarawak’s recognition globally. — DayakDaily
