SIBU, March 29: A pre-dawn fire engulfed a car workshop on Jalan Pelanang today, destroying nine vehicles.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sibu Central was alerted to the emergency at 4.11am, prompting the swift deployment of firefighters to the scene.
The blaze severely damaged the workshop, with losses estimated at 90 per cent.
Among the vehicles affected, five Toyota Hilux units sustained approximately 70 per cent damage, while a Proton Wira and a Ford Ranger were about 80 per cent burnt. Meanwhile, a Proton Persona and a Nissan Murano were completely destroyed.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire, and the operation concluded at 5am after ensuring the site was safe. — DayakDaily
