KUCHING, Oct 27: The Election Commission of Malaysia (EC) has opened postal voting applications for the 13th Sarawak Election.
According to an EC statement issued by secretary Datuk Khairul Shahril Idrus, postal voting applications have been open since Monday (Oct 26) for all categories:
- Category 1A (police personnel, military personnel, election workers, EC members and officers, and media personnel)
- Category 1B (Malaysian citizens residing overseas)
- Category 1C (agencies and organisations)
“All postal voting applications must be submitted online. Eligible voters who wish to vote by post must register for or already have a MySPR account before submitting their postal voting applications.
“The closing date for postal voting applications for all categories will be announced later,” he said.

The Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) was dissolved on Monday. A special meeting chaired by EC chairman Dato’ Sri Ramlan Harun will be held on Nov 6 to discuss key dates for the 13th Sarawak Election.
This will include the issuance of the election writ, nomination day, polling day, the electoral roll to be used, and other preparations for conducting the election. — DayakDaily
