KUCHING, May 27: Top leaders in the country should focus on encouraging unity among the public, instead of the opposite where it can lead to division among the nation’s citizens.
Political pundit Dato Peter Minos said if leaders of many races, religions and cultures act in unison, such actions will be emulated and followed by those who look up to them.
“When leaders unite, so does society. On the reverse, disunity among leaders is a road to division and destruction.
“It is thus with pride and happiness to say that Sarawakians are united and live peacefully with each others primarily because the leaders are united for the interest and common good of Sarawak,” he said in a statement today.
On the same note, Minos, who is also Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman, said that the cooperation between multi-racial councilors and staff in MPKS is the result of unity among each others.
He also said they are working together for the common good of the council and the community that they serves.
“It is the same for Sarawak that is thriving in unity and progressing in harmony,” he added. — DayakDaily
