KUCHING, June 22: After diligently contributing to improving Sarawak, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg does not deserve to be looked down upon and castigated, opined political pundit Dato Peter Minos.

According to Minos, Sarawakians have seen and accepted that Abang Johari has done his best for Sarawak by travelling overseas looking for ideas to transform Sarawak, such as hydrogen, green technology, the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system, Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), Sovereign Fund, the upcoming Sarawak-owned airline, and many many more.

“These things do not come from mere luck but grit, planning, and good strategies. It also demands determination and perseverance,” he said.

Minos said those who criticise Abang Johari not only show disrespect to Sarawak’s top leader but also to Sarawakians.

He pointed out that when Sarawak was underdeveloped, critics looked down upon the State, but now that Sarawak is fast developing under Abang Johari, they show contempt and disrespect.

“This is truly outrageous and uncalled for. We condemn such bad attitude towards Sarawak and our Premier,” he added.

However, he said that such antics do not deter Sarawakians and that he will continue to give full support to Abang Johari and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“We will continue to be united under our Premier and GPS, for we know only through political unity can development proceed smoothly and harmony among the races be sustained.

“When the time comes, we will defend our Premier and GPS to our utmost, as we are fully aware that there are people who plan and seek to topple GPS, including to pull Sarawak down,” he said. — DayakDaily
