KUCHING, May 29: A police report was lodged against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) member Iswardy Morni for making an offensive remark against Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The report was filed by a Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) member at Kuching Central police station at 1.38pm today.

The complainant said while he was scrolling through Facebook around 8.45am today, he came across a live video posted around 10.50pm yesterday.

“In the video, Iswardy was seen expressing his dissatisfaction towards the State government for not following the federal government’s implementation of ‘Total Lockdown’ and making offensive remarks towards the Chief Minister and Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang.

“Therefore, I have filed a report for the police’s further action,” he said in the report.

Meanwhile when contacted, Idris told DayakDaily that Iswardy’s action was very rude.

He also confirmed that the report was made for further action to be taken by the police and to conduct joint investigation with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

“We believe that his action in attacking the Chief Minister is a form of social media abuse by violating Section 233 and 211 of Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998,” he said.— DayakDaily
