Police recover missing vehicle after car chase, suspects escape

MIRI, Oct 9: A car which was reported missing from a house near a petrol station in Senadin last Wednesday (Oct 3) was recovered after a 15-minute car chase involving the police this morning.

According to sources, two men in a Perodua Kancil were spotted behaving in a suspicious manner by police patrolling the Piasau Industrial area.

The Perodua Kancil was then pursued by two Mobile Police Vehicles (MPVs) Tuesday (Oct 9) around 12.30am.

The chase started from Piasau Industrial area, ending near RPR Batu 6 (Lorong Palma 9).

However, the two suspects who were in the vehicle managed to escape.

The vehicle was seized and brought to Lutong police station. Further inspection of the vehicle revealed that it had fake registration plates to avoid detection by law enforcement authorities.

The car was reported missing on Oct 3 around 5.30pm.

The search for the two suspects is ongoing. — DayakDaily
