Police raid Miri condo with RM1.3 million worth of drugs

KUCHING, Aug 4: A condominium which was operating as a drug-producing lab with approximately RM1.3 million worth of drugs was raided by police in Miri on Monday night.

A team from the Sarawak Narcotics Investigation Department led by ASP Jong Lak Kho  raided the condominium at 8 pm.

“Various drugs such as ecstasy powder (9,055 grammes) and pills (756 grammes), ketamine (998 grammes), erimin 5 powder (3,159.2 grammes) and pills (3,140 grammes), and methamphetamine (233 grammes) were found in the unit,”  Sarawak Deputy Commissioner, Datuk Dev Kumar said in a press statement.

He added two suspects, a 43-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, were arrested during the raid as well.

“The various drugs which were found in the unit were used for drug mixing,” he said, adding that the drugs were later confiscated.

“The male suspect was tested positive for methamphetamine while the female suspect was tested positive for ketamin,” Dev noted.

The two suspects will be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.-DayakDaily
