KUCHING, Nov 25: The police is offering 50 per cent discount on various outstanding traffic summonses from Dec 1 to 14.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement said payment can be made at all service counters in any police district headquarters in Sarawak.
He explained that the counters are open daily from 8.30am to 3pm except on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the campaign period.
“However, summonses that are currently under trial, and for non-compound and major offences committed this year are not entitled to the discount.
“Other offences involving red traffic lights, emergency lanes, overtaking on double lines, accidents, heavy vehicles as well as exhaust modifications are not entitled to the discount,” Alexson said.
He urged the public to make use of the campaign to settle their summonses. — DayakDaily
