MIRI, Feb 21: Police have detained two unemployed individuals for drug possession during a raid at a hotel here yesterday.
The suspects, both locals aged 20 and 23, were picked up by the Narcotics Crime Investigation personnel at their hotel room at Centre Point Commercial Centre, Jalan Bendahara, during the 2.30pm operation.
“The team discovered five packets of illegal substances believed to be methamphetamine weighing at 2.54g with street value of about RM400.
“Both suspects were tested positive for drugs and currently being placed under custody for questioning,” the department said.
It was believed that both suspects have been renting the room for several days prior to the raid.
The case is being investigated under Section12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. — DayakDaily
