MIRI, Nov 15: The third and remaining suspect of the 24-hour convenience store robbery at Sungai Rait on Nov 8 has been arrested.

The suspect was nabbed at around 2pm at Kampung Lereng Bukit here today, following a public tip-off.

During the arrest, police also seized a motorcycle that was believed to be stolen.

Following the third arrest, police recovered two stolen vehicles, a four-wheel-drive (4WD) and a multipurpose vehicle (MPV), that were parked and concealed behind the bushes at the Luak area here to avoid police detection.

It was believed that the 38 year-old suspect intended to sell the vehicles, prior to his arrest today.

Police arrested the two other accomplices less than 24 hours after they robbed the convenience store last week.

Both suspects were picked up by Miri Criminal Investigation department team (CID) in two separate raids. Police also recovered several stolen items including a stolen car and a machete used in the heist. — DayakDaily
