Police nab man, seize drugs in his car

MIRI, May 25: A 43-year-old local man was detained by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department here today allegedly with eight packets of drugs weighing a total of 38.55g and with a street value of RM1,750.

The suspect was picked up at about 6.30am after police stopped his car behind a building at Pelita Commercial Centre.


Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the drugs, believed to be ketamin and ecstasy, were found inside the car and that the suspect tested positive for drugs.

Lim added that the suspect was currently in police custody and the case is being investigated under Section 39A (2) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs 1952. — DayakDaily
