KUCHING, Feb 9: Police arrested five men in Jalan Stutong for their involvement in illegal cockfighting.
Kuching District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah, in a statement today, said the arrest was made during ‘Ops Limau’ recently.
“The suspects, ages 26 to 60, were arrested while participating in the activity,” he said.
Ashmon said police also seized several cocks, weighing scale including RM310 cash.
He also said an investigation paper had been opened under Section 73(1)(g) of the Veterinary Health Ordinance 1999.
“All suspects will be remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC),” he added.
