KUCHING, July 13: The body of an elderly man found in a house at Kempas Heights here yesterday (July 12) has been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Forensics Department for a post-mortem, with police confirming the case as sudden death (SDR).
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said they received a call from a member of the public at 12.05pm yesterday reporting a foul smell emanating from a double-storey house in the Jalan Kempas area.
“Police arrived at the location and found a man in a seated position, unconscious on the floor of the living room.
“Paramedics from SGH who arrived shortly after confirmed that the man had died,” he said in a statement today.
The deceased has been identified as a local Chinese man in his 60s.
Alexson said the case is being investigated as a sudden death and urged the public not to speculate on the incident to respect the privacy and sensitivity of the deceased’s family.
