Police chief reiterates “zero-tolerance” on police-involved crimes

MIRI, Feb 13: Stern action will be taken against policemen involved in criminal activities and drug abuse, cautioned Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah.

Met today after attending the Miri police monthly assembly Lim stated he had a “zero-tolerance” pertaining to the two issues.


“We will not compromise with issues pertaining on our image,” he said.

As of Dec 16, 2019, a total 444 police personnel nationwide were found to have been involved in drug abuse activities.

“Fortunately, in Miri we have yet to record any of our personnel involved in such cases,” he said.

Also present was Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol.

A total of 16 police personnel received their certificates of appreciations while nine policemen were promoted to various new ranks. —DayakDaily
