KUCHING, Aug 26: Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident at the Jalan Majau-Kanowit-Song junction on Sunday (Aug 24).
Kanowit police chief DSP Junical Ujal said that a report was received on the incident at 8.30pm on Sunday about a man who fired shots before fleeing in a Toyota vehicle.
“No injuries were reported in the incident,” he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 25).
He added that a follow-up investigation led to the discovery of a burnt car along Jalan Penyulau, believed to be the vehicle used by the suspects to flee the scene.
“Acting on the information obtained, police arrested two men—one being the owner of the vehicle and the other believed to be involved in the case. Both arrests were made at separate locations,” he said.
He also warned the public not to speculate on the case until the investigation is completed. — DayakDaily
