KUCHING, June 13: The third phase of the Rahmah cash aid for the B40 group, totalling over RM2 billion, will be disbursed before Hari Raya Aidiladha.
According to a news report by TVS, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised that the payment between RM100 and RM1,300 will benefit some eight million beneficiaries nationwide.
Hari Raya Aidiladha falls on June 29 this year.
“In addition, the e-Belia Rahmah, which offers a credit of RM200 for youths aged 18 to 20 years and full-time students in public and private varsities, is expected to be channelled at the end of this month.
“This programme is aimed at easing the burden of the youths,” he said during the Minister’s Question Time at the Dewan Rakyat sitting in Putrajaya today.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, added that RM400 million had been allocated for the programme, which will benefit some two million youths.
He said this in his reply to a question from Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad (BN-Parit Sulong), who wanted to know the reforms made by the government in terms of approach and governance of laws or regulations to curb the leakage of public money as well as whether the government will continue reporting expenses and monitoring the National Budget. — DayakDaily
