KUALA LUMPUR, June 5: The National Industrial Plan is among three new policies to be launched by the federal government this year, says Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The plan will be launched in August, followed by the Mid-Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) at the end of September and the second Madani Budget in October.
“This big framework that will be launched will serve as a platform for good, transparent and responsible governance,” he said at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s birthday celebration in Kuala Lumpur today.
He also disclosed that apart from economic recovery efforts, the unity government is currently focusing on addressing the cost of living, increase in price of goods, and food security which have become a worldwide phenomenon.
Following this, he said several approaches such as the Payung Rahmah Concept, Aidilfitri Sales Carnival, People’s Income Initiative and entrepreneurship programmes are part of the government’s efforts to assist the people.
Anwar also said that Malaysia will continue to play a more active role in voicing its stance and preserving the country’s interests at international forums especially in issues related to the country’s sovereignty, humanitarianism, security and disaster management.
“Your Majesty’s contribution in elevating the country’s interests in the diplomatic and investment fields is greatly appreciated,” he added. — DayakDaily
