PM, federal cabinet members give up two months’ salary for Covid-19 fund

KUCHING, March 26: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his federal cabinet members will take a two-month pay cut, which would be channeled to the country’s Covid-19 fund.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the decision was made following a cabinet meeting in Putrajaya yesterday, which decided that two months’ salary for the prime minister, ministers and deputy ministers will be donated to the fund.

“This effort proved the government’s commitment in helping those affected by the Covid-19 outbreak,” the statement read.


The Covid-19 fund, launched on March 11, has collected RM8,493,103.48 as of yesterday, including donations via government grants. — DayakDaily
