KUCHING, June 23: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim extended his condolences to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on the passing of his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
“All our thoughts go out to the family of the deceased, especially to Abang Jo, whom I just met yesterday. May he continue to be patient and steadfast.
“Our family prays that the soul of the deceased may be forgiven of all sins and be granted a special place by His side,” he said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a statement, said he remembered the late Juma’ani as a gentle, kind-hearted woman who was deeply committed to welfare and community work, particularly in empowering women and communities in Sarawak.
“The passing of a beloved person who has been a loyal life partner, companion in joy and sorrow, and a main supporter in the Premier’s leadership journey is certainly a great and profound loss.
“Her loss is not only felt by her immediate family but also mourned by all Sarawakians who greatly appreciate her services and contributions over the years,” said Zahid.
