KUCHING, July 28: Some 100,000 Malaysians aged 18 to 30 who successfully complete artificial intelligence (AI) courses through the Rakyat Digital platform will receive three months of free subscriptions to leading AI software under a federal government initiative.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the offer is part of the ‘AI Untuk Rakyat’ (‘AI for the People’) programme, aimed at accelerating AI literacy and adoption, particularly among young people.
“We will begin with a youth cohort aged between 18 and 30, with the digital ministry developing the course modules. Those who successfully complete the AI courses will receive a free three-month subscription to leading AI applications,” he said at the launch of AI Malaysia in Cyberjaya today, as reported by Bernama.
Elaborating on the modules offered in the programme, he said it would cover AI safety, agentic AI, generative AI, and cloud computing.
“We will launch it on Merdeka Day, and it is expected to benefit 100,000 young people,” Anwar said, adding that Putrajaya wanted to ensure that no one is left behind in the accelerated AI adoption. — DayakDaily
