KUCHING, June 11: The Bidayuh community takes pride in the appointment of Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairman Abun Sui Anyit as a senator by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
PKR Serian chief Senior William Rade said Abun Sui was the only Dayak appointed by the King on March 20, 2023.
“We hope Abun Sui can become our voice in the Dewan Negara together with other ethnicities in Sarawak.
“Thus, we gave a souvenir in the form of traditional Bidayuh attire to the Senator so that it can serve as a reminder for Abun Sui to remember us and carry out the trust given to him in the Dewan Negara,” he said in a statement after hosting a thanksgiving lunch for Abun Sui here today.
