PKR Sarawak is on its last legs, observes Abdul Karim amid resignations

KUCHING, May 29: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak is doomed and will die a slow death, said Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice-president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He said this was indicated when several branch chiefs and the committee members have declared that they are leaving the party.

“With one by one of the party (PKR) branch chairmen and other committee members leaving (the party), all I can say is that PKR Sarawak is doomed and will die a slow death,” Abdul Karim, who is Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture Youth and Sports said when contacted.

When asked whether those quitting PKR will join any political parties, be it a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component party or Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Abdul Karim was non-committal in his answer.

He was also non-committal on whether PBB would accept them.

“I can’t speak on behalf of them, they are the ones leaving their party and it’s better to ask them where they are heading to,” he pointed out.

Just on May 16, Abdul Karim had predicted that PKR would become a mosquito party when he was asked on Mas Gading and Stampin branch committee members quitting the party.

In the latest development, branch leaders and the other committee members of PKR Selangau, Lubok Antu, Marudi and Betong have also quit the party.—DayakDaily
