KUCHING, Sept 26: Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) wants the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Consultative Committee reports to be made public.

Sarawak PKR information chief Abun Sui Anyit in a statement today, said the federal government’s refusal to disclose the latest report from the committee is disappointing.

“PKR Sarawak insists that every citizen of Sarawak and Sabah has the right to know about the latest developments regarding the MA63 report,” he said.

Abun Sui asserted important matters such as MA63 including the restoration of Sabah and Sarawak’s rights should be announced, and tabled and debated in detail in Parliament.

He said bearing in mind Deputy Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), Datuk Maximus Johnity Ongkili and Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib-Alsree who are from Sabah and Sarawak respectively, the secrecy has added to the frustrations of both Sabahans and Sarawakians.

“With the content of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which is dated on Sept 13, 2021, which include the MA63, between the federal government and Pakatan Harapan (PH), it is hoped that this will empower the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili to disclose the final report of the committee to the public and subsequently for approval in the Dewan Rakyat as soon as possible,” he added. — DayakDaily
