PKR Political Bureau accepts JPP’s decision on polls in Julau, Pensiangan and Tawau

KUCHING, Nov 14: The PKR Political Bureau has accepted the decision of its Central Election Committee (JPP) on the election in Julau in Sarawak and Pensiangan and Tawau in Sabah.

The PKR Political Bureau came to the decision last night after a meeting.

Thus, the party’s Youth, Women and main body will proceed with the Congress, which will be held from Nov 16 to 18 as announced previously.


“The party will give full cooperation to any enforcement agencies, including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Malaysian Royal Police (PDRM), and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) who are investigating the party elections,” said PKR director of communication Fahmi Fadzil in a press statement yesterday.

He said the Political Bureau had instructed JPP to resolve immediately the issue of ‘dubious votes; for divisions with disputes by calling representatives of both candidates vying for the deputy presidential post to be present to observe the whole process.

“On the issue of ‘lost votes’ raised by Akmal Nasir and his colleagues at a press conference yesterday afternoon, the Political Bureau has instructed the firm Baker Tilly to verify the integrity of the electoral system and give a prompt response,” said Fahmi.

PKR will also announce the appointment of an auditing company soon to conduct independent audits for the entire electoral process, he assured. — DayakDaily
