PKR Mukah calls on state govt to upgrade school facilities in Mukah

KUCHING, Oct 12: PKR Mukah is urging the state government to upgrade facilities in government schools in Mukah.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Mukah branch in a media statement claimed teachers in rural schools have complained that there were insufficient basic facilities in schools and they have to use their own pocket money to assist the schools to provide some of the facilities for the students’ benefit and welfare.

It noted that the state government has recently made known the establishment of international schools in Sarawak.


Hence, the party’s branch is urging the state government to repair schools in rural areas and provide comfortable dormitories for students at boarding schools, high speed Internet connectivity and stable treated water supply and electricity.

At the same time, PKR Mukah also urges the state government to provide basic infrastructure such as roads, telecommunication network, treated water supply and electricity to all residents in Mukah.

It added that it is prepared to assist the state government in implementing development projects in Mukah.

It noted that these projects include roads connecting longhouses and villages to the main road as well as upgrading and repairing of existing roads leading to villages and longhouses.

PKR Mukah pointed out that Internet connectivity and online services are urgently required in every household especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

It asserted that good Internet connection is also important to allow students to gain access to more information and assist them in their studies. — DayakDaily
