PKR man disappointed over unfinished projects in Hulu Rajang, calls for post-mortem

Senator Abun Sui Anyit

KUCHING, Feb 10: Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairman Abun Sui Anyit expressed his disappointment over the incompletion of several projects at the parliamentary constituency of Hulu Rajang.

In a statement, Abun Sui cited that among the incomplete projects are the Long Busang clinic and the Jiwa Murni road from Belaga town to Nanga Merit.

“The delay is acknowledged by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg that was aired on a private national television network recently.

“According to the premier, the reason for the delay was due to the incompetency of these contractors.

“If that is the case, who is the authority to appoint the contractors for these jobs? Is it not the Sarawak government?” he questioned.

Abun Sui also questioned why the contractors weren’t screened before being appointed.

“We don’t want this to repeat, and we suggest a post-mortem be carried out on why the project failed or was delayed.

“The government could also reveal the names of these contractors who had failed so that the public is informed,” he said. — DayakDaily
