PKR leader lodges police report over abuse of grants claim


MIRI, May 17: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Hulu Rajang chairman Abun Sui Anyit lodged a police report, here, this afternoon concerning a recent claim by Sarawak Report that rural grants had been abused to fund an online news portal.

He urged the relevant authorities to probe the allegation.

“This police report has nothing to do with any news portal,” he emphasised when met by reporters outside Miri Central police station (CPS).


Abun said he would also lodge a similar report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Miri branch.

Abun with copies of the police report that he had lodged.

Meanwhile, online news portal DayakDaily, which was named in the Sarawak Report’s claim, came out with an official statement two days ago to clarify the matter.

DayakDaily made it clear that its management is not connected with the state government or any political party in the state. — DayakDaily
