PKR Bandar Kuching leaders join exodus of grassroots members

Simon Siah

KUCHING, May 19: Following the resignations of grassroot leaders across Sarawak, PKR Bandar Kuching members have revealed they are also exiting the party.

Its branch chief Simon Siah announced his resignation as branch chief as well as his position as the Election Director for Angkatan Muda Keadilan effective today.

Leaving also are Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Bandar Kuching’s committee members who, according to Siah, were “resigning from their positions in the same manner”.

“The party was strong in Sarawak under the leadership of YB Baru Bian and the state leadership was strongly behind YB Baru Bian despite the national leadership trying to undermine him in the past years.

“The party is only as good as the people in it and the party is merely a platform for the good people that are in the party who have their minds set for the people of Malaysia and Sarawak specifically,” Siah disclosed in a statement today.

He did not mention whether he would join another party but vowed to continue to serve the people.

“Together with my members, I will continue to serve the people in my own capacity through NGOs and my legal profession,” Siah added. — DayakDaily
