KUCHING, July 4: PKR has appointed a list of Parliamentary Spokespersons and Assistant Parliamentary Spokespersons to shadow the PN cabinet and raise the effectiveness of PKR MPs.
Among those in the list revealed on the party’s Facebook page yesterday are Sarawak PKR Chairman and Julau Member of Parliament (MP), Larry Sng Wei Shien, who has been appointed as Sabah and Sarawak Parliamentary Spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Miri MP Dr Michael Teo Yu Keng is Assistant Parliamentary Spokesperson for Natural Resources, Water and Energy.
PKR Chief Organising Secretary, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said in a statement that the Parliamentary Spokespersons is to shadow the ministers of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) based on their portfolios and to ensure and enhance the effectiveness of the PKR MP.
“It offers young men, women, those who have experience at the Federal and State levels, have worked in the corporate, corporate, work as well as community activists,” he said.
He said with the existence of the Parliamentary Spokesperson, every decision of the PN Cabinet would be evaluated more effectively and to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the PKR MP would be enhanced.
Nik Nazmi added that the party had already informed their colleagues in Pakatan Harapan (PH) about the setting up of PKR Parliamentary Spokespersons and that their colleagues were also actively preparing for this Parliamentary assembly.
