KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has amended its constitution to provide equal opportunities for all ethnic groups to lead and elect leaders at the branch level.

PKR Central Leadership Council member and Hulu Rajang Branch Chief, Senator Abun Sui Anyit, stated that the amendments to Clause 17 of the party constitution include the addition of a new Clause 17B.

“This amendment ensures that all ethnic groups within the party will have the opportunity to lead and elect leaders at the branch level,” he said in a statement today.

As part of the changes, the number of delegates to the party congress will be increased to 46 for each branch.

Branches with more than 3,000 members will have an additional 10 delegates for every 1,000 members, facilitating broader participation in leadership elections during the party’s election year.

Abun Sui also emphasized that these constitutional amendments eliminate any barriers, ensuring that all ethnicities within PKR have equal opportunities to lead the party.

The move is seen as a significant step in PKR’s commitment to justice and inclusivity, ensuring fair representation and leadership opportunities for all Malaysians within the party. – DayakDaily
