MIRI, June 28: The Sarawak government has always focussed on delivering services and development projects for the well-being of the rakyat.

Piasau assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting said this could be seen and proven via the various development projects implemented by the State government over the years.

Ting when met yesterday morning after inspecting the just completed Tamu Kampung Luak area here said, the state government would never neglect the people.

Citing the tamu as an example, he said the RM600,000 project would benefit locals as it offered a venue for them to sell their produce.

“They finally have a proper place to sell their produce,” he said.

The newly completed tamu area which includes basic amenities can accommodate up to 50 vendors.

The construction work started end of January this year and was finished on June 21.

“I am happy to see that the project was completed smoothly, with basic amenities provided for the vendors here,” Ting said, adding the project was proposed by former Sibuti Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Ahmad Lai Bujang and its application was approved for construction in January.

The project was implemented under Ting’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

“We hope with the completion of this tamu, it will enable local sellers or farmers to sell their local produce to customers,” he said.

“The works include the extension of the operation office of the hall, repainting the badminton court and replacing old windows,” he said.

The project was completed on May 3.

“I hope that the completion of these development projects could help transform the landscape of the area,” Ting said. — DayakDaily
