KUCHING, Jan 25: The rehabilitation project of the old Ang Cheng Ho quarry, initiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in early 2020, is now nearing completion of its first phase.
According to Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, a multi-purpose hall is now located on a 20-acre lake with a depth of approximately 150 metres.
“With the completion of phase one, we are planning for phase two and phase three.
“I’m looking forward to the experienced operators for resort development to come and join us so that Batu Kawah eventually will be a place for working, for relaxing, and also for the tourists to come.
“And not just to see the riverbank part, but also to visit the rehabilitated Ang Cheng Ho quarry, so that people has opportunity to enjoy what Batu Kawah can offer apart from the food, the temples, the churches, and so on,” he said in a video posted on his official Facebook Page yesterday (Jan 24). — DayakDaily
