Pharmacist sentenced to death for gruesome murder of Chinese national wife

SRI AMAN, Nov 30: The High Court here convicted a pharmacist who was charged with beheading his Chinese national wife and sentenced him to death by hanging.

Judge Azhahari Kamal Ramli today ruled that the prosecution had successfully proved the case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted the accused as charged.


Wong Zing Haw, 41, was charged with murdering Yan Xi, 31, between Feb 25 and March 3, 2018, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for a death sentence upon conviction.

DPP Musli Abdul Hamid prosecuted while the accused was represented by government-assigned counsels Jubilant Austinway and Mohamad Fairus Masri. — DayakDaily
