Petronas subsidiaries distribute aid to 360 fire victims

MIRI, Dec 10: About 360 fire victims in Niah and Bekenu received basic necessities including rice, dry food, clothes, toiletries and cash aid from the staff of Petronas Carigali Sarawak Oil (SK-Oil) and Petronas Floating LNG Satu (PFLNG1) recently.

The items were handed over to the victims by representatives from both Petronas subsidiaries, headed by SK-Oil head of administration Suif Alias.

The aftermath of the fire incident at the Rumah Panjang Usek, Niah, Miri recently that left about 38 families homeless.

“This effort is in line with one of our CSR (corporate social responsibility) pillars, which is to contribute to the well-being of society. We hope our small contribution will help to ease the burden of the affected families,” Suif said in a press statement today.


The recipients were members of 38 families from Rumah Panjang Usek, Niah, and one family from Kampung Satap, Bekenu, who lost their homes in a fire on Nov 14 and Dec 2 this year, respectively. — DayakDaily
