KUCHING, Nov 12: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) expressed its gratitude to the media for their dedication and valuable contributions in partnering with PETRONAS to inform and educate the public on its activities, progress, and broader societal impact.

“At PETRONAS, we believe our story is not just ours to tell; it is also yours, the dedicated members of the media,” she said.

“You have been with us through every milestone, challenge, and achievement, giving each story a voice and perspective, while connecting us with Malaysians and global audiences.”

Siti Azlina shared these remarks during the PETRONAS Media Appreciation Dinner at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Monday night.

She noted that without the media’s support, PETRONAS would be unable to effectively share accurate information with both Malaysian and global audiences.

“We are incredibly grateful for your insightful and thoughtful reporting, especially in today’s dynamic world, where disinformation and misinformation are becoming increasingly common, resulting in growing public distrust,” she added.

“It is crucial that we continue working together to create credible stories that demonstrate our resilience, innovation, and commitment to a sustainable future.”

She assured the media that PETRONAS remains committed to supporting and uplifting journalism, particularly through initiatives like the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI)-PETRONAS Malaysian Journalism Award, as well as contributions to the Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) and the Kinabalu Press Awards (KPA).

“We aim not only to acknowledge journalistic excellence but to celebrate stories that educate, inspire, and connect us meaningfully,” she said, emphasizing that PETRONAS values its collaboration with the media beyond just a professional level.
