BINTULU, Sept 16: Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd, based in Samalaju, has announced plans for a RM800 million reinvestment to expand its product portfolio.
Since its establishment, the company has invested RM1.8 billion in producing ferrosilicon and manganese alloys, both essential to the global steel industry.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan welcomed the proposal, stressing that the Sarawak government will continue to prioritise strategic projects from existing investors.
“Pertama Ferroalloys plays a significant role in Sarawak’s industrial landscape.
“The firm contributes not only through direct employment but also via spin-offs that support local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs,” he said in a statement after visiting the factory in Samalaju today. — DayakDaily
