KUCHING, Sept 25: Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) has channeled funds amounting to RM111 million since its establishment in 2014 to support more than 300 Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sarawak.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), PUNB chairman Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said this amount can be increased to further expand support for economic development in Sarawak.
“Economic development in Sarawak is increasing rapidly. Of course many entrepreneurs will participate and of course they need support and capital financial strength and that is where PUNB will help.
“Every entrepreneur in Sarawak who has potential and is qualified and if they participate in economic projects in Sarawak, will feel able to compete more firmly with the support of PUNB,” he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Acryl also underlined that the financial support provided not only helps in terms of capital, but also in the form of guidance and training.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh and PUNB chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin. — DayakDaily
