KUCHING, Sept 13: Pending assemblywoman Violent Yong has been warded at a private hospital, here, for suspected dengue fever.
Yong, who is having her internship with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, received a visit from minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
Abdul Karim revealed that the DAP lawmaker is doing well after receiving treatment and currently under medical observation.
Meanwhile, the state Health Department recently reported that the number of dengue cases in Sarawak had increased when compared to last year.
Between January and August this year, a total of 1,258 cases were reported compared to 340 in the same period last year.
Kuching Division recorded the highest number of cases, totalling 485. — DayakDaily
