PDP Dudong chairman lodges police report against social media accounts for ‘defaming GPS’

Teo holds up the police report the party has lodged against the social media accounts.

SIBU, Dec 15: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong branch has lodged a police report pertaining to a Pemangsang Sarawak Baru Facebook page which it claimed has insinuated that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) violated the rules of the election without any basis.

The report was lodged by branch chairman Teo Boon Siew at Lanang Police Station today.

Another report was also lodged at the same time concerning allegations that GPS candidate for Dudong, Datuk Seri Tiong King sing was involved in vote buying.

According to Teo, the Facebook page had crossed the line and did not have any evidence to back up their allegations.

“Whatever election ploy or purposes that they are trying to do, insinuating that GPS is violating election rules without any facts or evidence to back them is just wrong,” he said.

Teo added that they cannot tolerate what he termed to be “dirty tricks” to attack GPS.

“Without any evidence to back them up, this post has only misled readers and and defamed GPS, “he said.

The party he added strictly condemned such a culture.

“To defend our reputation, we have decided to lodge a police report against the post and social media account and hope for a resolution through the correct legal channels,” he concluded. — DayakDaily
