KUCHING, Oct 3: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) aim to work together to eliminate Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and to deny victory for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
PBK president Voon Lee Shan said the main reason was because the two parties have failed to revoke Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to restore Sarawak to its original position before the formation of Malaysia.
DAP and PKR, he said, also did not revoke the Petroleum Development Act 1974, the Territorial Sea Act 2012 and the Continental Shelf Act 1966.
“MA63 and all these three Acts could easily be repealed and it is speculated that Sarawak had lost about RM100 billion a year from these wealth which we in PBK, PSB and PBDS want to restore for Sarawak.
“What Sarawak got back from the federal government is always less than RM5 billion annually.
“We are eager to revoke MA63 to ensure Sarawak be reverted to its original position before Malaysia was formed,” he said in a statement today.
Voon also reminded Sarawakians that the State is only given 31 out of 222 seats in Parliament, thus making it hard for Sarawak MPs to oppose whatever policies and laws passed in Parliament.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the seats won by DAP in Sarawak are seats won by Malaya.
“If DAP wins 5 seats here, this means Sarawak will only be left with 25 seats. This will makes voices from Sarawak not audible in parliament.
“Under parliamentary style of democracy, DAP Sarawak has to follow the directives or orders of their bosses in the Malaya. If they don’t agree, they have to resign from their party.
“To restore Sarawak rights, it is better for Chong Chieng Jen (DAP Sarawak chairman) and all members in DAP Sarawak to resign and join local political parties to fight for Sarawak,” said Voon.
At the same time, Voon said the three-party coalition (PBK, PSB and PBDS) will deny Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) victory in GE15.
“This is because we see GPS had not been able to restore Sarawak to the expectation of Sarawakians.
“Many lands alienated to the federal government and federal government agencies or to companies from the Malaya need to be restored back to Sarawak,” he emphasised. — DayakDaily
