KUCHING, April 9: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan today clarified that the party’s members are not invited to join Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) or any component party alongside former Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) members.
Voon made this statement following their supporters’ queries and PBK’s previous political cooperation with PSB during the 15th Parliamentary Elections (PRU15) which does not necessarily reflect any shared ideologies.
“PBK has nothing to do with the invitation extended to the former members of the dissolved PSB. The loose cooperation with PSB during PRU15 does not mean that PBK subscribes to the political ideologies and struggles of PSB,” said Voon.
Regardless, he extended an invitation to former PSB members who were interested to join their party by submitting applications and prerequisite fees, while reaffirming PBK’s commitment to achieving the State’s freedom and independence from Malaysia through peaceful and legal means.
On April 6, PSB announce the dissolution of their party, with more than 80,000 members having accepted en bloc into the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). — DayakDaily
