PBK president arrives in court for remand order as police open investigation under Sedition Act

KUCHING, Nov 24: Parti Bumi Kenyalang president Voon Lee Shan and three others have been taken to Court this morning by the police for a remand application.

Voon is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948/233, and Communications And Multimedia Act 1988.


Police are applying for them to be remanded under Section 117 of the Penal Code.

Voon, who was handcuffed arrived at the Kuching High Court building around 9am.

He was then taken to the Magistrate’s Court at 9.26am.

Voon together with Phang Aik Hua, Chan Chee Wei and Danny Voon Yung Ming were arrested by the police at four different locations last night.

They were allegedly involved in a protest convoy that roamed Kuching town around 5.30pm to 6pm.

A video clip showing the convoy, with banners stating ‘Say No to PAS’ in several vehicles has since gone viral on social media. — DayakDaily
