KUCHING, Jan 31: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) has no objections to veteran politician Datuk Seri Edmund Langgu Saga joining Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).
PBDS secretary-general Julius Enchana said Langgu represented the older generation of the party and must have his reasons for his decision which are to be respected.
“All the best to him. We respect his position and he has his own reasons to join PSB. We have on objections, he was the older generation of PBDS,” he said in a statement today.
He added Langgu who was also the secretary-general of PBDS back in the day did not rejoin the party after it was revived in 2013 following its deregistration in 2004.
Julius said the respectable Dayak leader knows the best platform for himself and wished the latter good luck in his political endeavours.
In a statement yesterday (Jan 30), Langgu announced his entry to PSB as he saw PSB as a multi-racial party with a manifesto that reflects his personal convictions about the way a government should rule.
Pointing out that the people of Sarawak especially the Dayaks have not been advancing much while under the lead of Barisan Nasional (BN) and now Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), he pledged to bring change in the upcoming state election together with other PSB leaders.
Meanwhile, Julius urged all politicians to stop politicking and focus on fighting Covid-19.
“Halt your weapons and stop firing at each other. The world has a bigger issue than your political agenda. We are fighting an unseen threat that has spread to almost every district of Sarawak,” he asserted. — DayakDaily
